By António-Pedro and Caroline Bergeron
More than based on a true story, Sopa Nuvem was a real story: a live documentary.
António-Pedro told us his story: his son remembered his grandfather who had died and, above all, the bean soup that he cooked to perfection. António then went on a journey, within and beyond himself, searching for his father's mysterious recipe.
Through his living room window, now transformed into a screen, he talked to his son, interviewed his father's old aunts and friends and bought beans, while live playing the soundtrack and trying to cook the soup, following contradictory directions.
And through this father in search for a recipe, but also accepting his loss, we would immersed ourselves in the life of an ordinary man, evoking with humour and tenderness the issues of death, passing the baton, family and the love that binds everything together.
Seen by more than 20 thousand people in roughly 150 performances, in theatres and festivals in Portugal, France, Switzerland and Italy. “CLOUD SOUP” received the Best Show MOMIX Award 2014 (FR), among other distinctions.
